Some studies have even shown that daily reading can be a better predictor of a child’;s success in school than their economic background.

There are many ways you can foster your child’;s love of reading. From an early age, you can read aloud to your child or simply describe pictures in a book. You can also make sure that your kids have access to books, whether at home or at their local library. You can also lead by example, showing your kids that reading is an enjoyable pastime that’;s important no matter your age.

One great way to encourage your kids to read daily is to create a cozy, quiet space they can use just for reading. Start by setting up a smalltoddler pillow cases, inviting reading nook in your home and make time for your kids during the day so they can use it.

Start by finding the right space in your home to create your reading nook. You want to make sure that it’;s quiet and somewhat secluded from the hustle and bustle of the house. The child’;s bedroom or playroom is typically a good spot, but you might find other hidden spaces in your home that could be great spots of reading.

Remember, you don’;t need a lot of space; in fact the more cozy the space the better. Many wonderfully creating reading nooks for kids are in converted closets, unused spaces under the stairs, teepees, tents and hanging canopies, and small corners of rooms.

One thing to pay attention to though is to make sure that the space has plenty of light. Natural light is best, so a spot by any window is always great. But you can also get creative with lighting and make it part of your reading nook decor.

You want your kiddos to snuggle in with a good book, relax and get lost in reading. The best way to do that is to make sure their space is comfortable and cozy for long periods of time.

You really don’;t need much. A couple of pillows, a soft blanket and a bean bag chair or a backrest cushion should do the trick. You probably already have most (if not all) of these things around the house already. All you have to do now is to simply carve out a space in your home to put them all together.

Of course, you can get creative and hang a swing or hammock chair from the ceiling, create a comfy window seat, or layer on furry rugs, floor cushions, comfy poufs, and lots and lots of pillows to make the space as comfortable as possible.

Adding a fun and unique element to your reading nook will make your kids want to spend time in this space. Hang some twinkling lights from the ceiling. Add a picture, a sign or other wall decor your kids might like. Add a small table where they can put their drinks and snacks down.

If you want to make the reading nook more special, consider adding a personalized touch, like a custom throw pillow, blanket or wall art with their name, favorite colors, designs and more.

And don’;t forget about the most important part —; the books! In addition to functional book storage you can create a fun book display so kids can see the book covers. You can hang narrow book shelves or even picture ledges to display the books. Or simply make the books stand up on a book shelf and change out the collection periodically.

Have you ever loved a set of sheets to pieces? (Guilty as charged!) Or maybe you accidentally subjected that brand-new fitted sheet to some high-heat shrinkage, and now it springs off the corner of your bed faster than an Olympic gymnast. (Been there, too.) So what do you do with those extra pillowcases that have lost their bed mates?

Now, I buy an oil diffuser every time a friend moves into a new place. I’ve realized it’s the perfect gift — the look is simple, and often easy to hide — something you can buy even the pickiest of people whose tastes run the gamut. An oil diffuser is something they’d never ever buy for themselves, but feels like a little luxury. (When it comes to oils, if you’re looking for a good set, I like this starter pack.) They can mix and match the oils for an ideal scent, filling their new place with frankincense-lavender or, my preference, orange-peppermint. Below, my favorite oil diffusers that make the best housewarming presents (and hostess gifts).
